FAQs: Tubing for Gas Mixing Systems

Recently, we received this message from a customer:

“(Our) EH&S did an inspection in my lab and raised concerns about the tubing materials, as their guidelines require metal tubing for safety. Could you provide the product details and rationale for the tubing that your installed for the gas-mixing system in my lab?”

Here is how our Engineering team responded:

“I haven’t seen metal runs in a long time. They are expensive, hard to run, and offer no flexibility when things expand and contract. Every one of my tube furnace customers in the last decade has used plastic tubing. I used PVDF for your lines. It is semi-flexible, high purity, and is resistant to acids. It should work really well for you.”

At Deltech Furnaces, we have the expertise and experience required to choose components and materials for your furnace system that are optimal for your application requirements. Learn more about our gas mixing systems and tube furnaces.
