Student opportunities at GOMD
GOMD – The Glass and Optical Materials Division of the American Ceramic Society – is holding their annual division meeting in San Antonio, Texas May 20-24, 2018. What is unique about this group and the upcoming meeting is that they encourage students to attend and enter their posters for “recognition and cash awards”, both great for everyone but especially for students! And if that is not enough, you can also get financial assistance to attend the sessions. If you go to the website and look on the right hand side, you’ll see an additional link for GOMD 2018 Student Registration Grants where you can get more information and apply for funds. There is also a list of the session topics and links to get additional information on each of those, covering topics in both research and applications.
We at Deltech Furnaces are glad to continue to be a sponsor of student financial assistance for this year’s meeting. The Stevenson family believes strongly in the value of education, so we welcome opportunities to contribute to this as our personal and corporate mission whenever we can.
If you are a student working in glass science and engineering, check it out! If you are not but you know someone, please pass the information on.
And if you need a glass melt furnace for your research, check out our RS line of batch furnaces.
Deltech is a family owned small business incorporated in 1968. Members of the Stevenson family are part of the day-to-day operations in management, sales, engineering, and production.
